The Dream:

The idea for Healing Our Heroes was born when our founder, Kimberly, a veteran of the USAF was invited to attend a 3 day Ketamine retreat at a Buddhist center in Upstate NY. During the weekend they ate only vegetarian organic food, they did intensive integration, therapy, yoga, sound healing and more. When Kimberly came out she realized that for the first time in 8 years of Ketamine therapy her head felt clearer, she was much less reactive from her PTSD, and her anxiety and depression were lower then ever before. It made her realize the importance of the mind and body connection and how this could save the lives of veterans and other’s who serve but aren’t being taken care of themselves. From this she began to dream of how she could bring this to those like herself that need healing and the idea of Healing Our Heroes was born.

Kimberly teamed up with a fantastic team of clinicians, veterans, and others to build the program for HOH to bring the most healing possible.

The Program:

Each Retreat Includes:

3 Ketamine sessions

Therapy both 1:1 and group

Integration, art sessions, yoga, grounding, breathwork, music therapy, and more.

The Dieta:

After our founder’s first retreat she realized that the healing is so much greater when the body is healed as well as the mind. Today most of what we eat is exposed to so many chemicals and is hard on our digestion system. When we remove the chemicals and eat a simple plant based diet it gives our gut a reset that helps the mind/body system to realign itself.

We eat an organic vegetarian diet with organic fruit, vegetables, organic humanely raised eggs, organic cheeses, and organic honey. No seed oils, no sugar, and no refined wheat flour are consumed during the entire 5 days.

We have found when the diet is closely followed that the results are even more sustainable and effective for our participants. We have had many participants who thought they wouldn’t be able to follow the diet but came to us afterwards and told us how glad they were that they tried it and how amazing they felt at the end of the 5 days.
